The Pomona Railway Station Gallery is located in the Noosa hinterland town of Pomona. Surrounded by lush gardens with a backdrop of Mount Cooroora, the gallery is a community run space committed to serving local artists and crafts persons.
When the original railway station was scheduled to be demolished by Queensland Rail, community spirit rallied and the locals worked together to acquire the buildings, moving them from the railway line to its place now.
Since opening in March 2001 the gallery has grown from two buildings to now five, creating unique spaces for creative art and crafts.
Entirely staffed by volunteers, the gallery thrives on selling local art and providing a wealth of local information for tourists.
Our exhibition spaces include:
Signal Room
Station Master's Room
Carriage Room
Banana Shed
Blacksmith's Shop

About the Volunteers....
The gallery currently has 95 members and 27 volunteers, working over 20 shifts each week, as there are two volunteers rostered to cover each time bracket.
Volunteers often remark that the environment - surrounded by fabulous artwork, beautiful gardens and a warm community is a top place to volunteer.
If you are seeking interesting and active volunteer work, we'd love to hear from you.
The gallery provides an opportunity to use many different skill sets - operational, management, communication and customer service.
All volunteers are provided with training.
